Welcome to "Tea with Julie," a weekly missive by me, Julie Bogart. My wish is to give you food for thought over a cup of tea to enhance your life as an educator, parent, and awesome adult. Glad you're here. Pinkies up!

Hi Friend,
Middlers!
They can do so much for themselves—shower (if you can get them into one), figure out a new board game, and make their own lunch!
Where trouble starts is when you want to help them with stuff and they are resistant. Writing comes to mind! Whether homework assignment or homeschool project, it gets tricky to give the kind of feedback that will be received as supportive and empowering.
This next Tea with Julie series (starting next Saturday) is all about how to be the kind of adult your child needs most to be a successful (happy!) writer. You might want to tell a friend, too. This is the heart of Brave Writer's best work—how to promote a great writing life! Follow along and save the emails to help you when you need it most.

By the way: if you find yourself interested in writing support right now, we do have a class I designed called Brave Writer 102: Kind, Dynamic Revision that starts Monday October 25. Only a few seats left, but it's a good one! Uses the same techniques to teach you how to coach revision that we use to train our coaches. Highly recommended.
Warmly,
P.S. Catch up on all the “Tea with Julie” emails here!
