Hi Friend,

How are you holding up? Still finding ways to pass the time and share your cozy home space with all your people?

One of the challenges of this "stay at home" order so many of us are under is that we've got more people underfoot than usual, without any breaks. So it occurred to me that a series on "managing multiples" would be the way to go!

In the upcoming emails (one per week), we'll talk about:

  • Being a one-room schoolhouse
  • How I home educated five kids
  • What to do when your children bicker
  • Homeschooling with a toddler underfoot

Happy to take your questions on this topic. Just hit reply and I'll see them.

For now, I want you to be aware that we've got some incredible resources for you to enjoy this upcoming week. Yesterday, we finished our free online conference called HOMEBOUND. We've posted all the replays and you may view them at your leisure for free.

You can watch any of the sessions here.

One of my favorite webinars was offered by my friend, Josh MacNeill, from Neurologic. He helped us learn about the brain and how to take "brain breaks" to discharge anxiety, to overcome trauma, to eject from boredom, and to re-up the brain's capacity for learning. We all need that right now!

Watch Josh's webinar.

Jim Weiss told stories every day to children. More than 5000 kids enjoyed his tale-telling last week. You can replay these stories as many times as you like!

Enjoy the storytelling of Jim Weiss.

Melissa Wiley, Brave Writer writing coach and writer, as well as much-loved children's novelist, read her book The Prairie Thief aloud all week. She will finish it on her Instagram account.

Catch up on The Prairie Thief.

One of our favorite authors is Kwame Alexander (author of the Newbery Winner: The Crossover) and he's going to be reading his book aloud on Instagram Live every day starting March 30 (Monday) at 10:30 AM EDT. You don't want to miss this. I have met Kwame and have heard him perform. He is magical! Perfect for middle grades.

And outside the Brave Writer-verse, a friend alerted me to the fact that Yale University's most popular course ever is available now for free! This might be just right for you during this time at home...a little awesome adulting.

This course focuses on well-being: how to create it and sustain it! Enjoy.

Next week, we'll jump right into our series about managing multiples. Feel free to reply to this email with any questions you may have on the topic.

Be safe, stay home, stay kind.

Warmly,
